Our vision
The FLINTA* Bookshelf will be a permanent physical space for FLINTA* folk and friends in Berlin. It will focus on educational and cultural activities, offer access to queer and intersectional feminist literature, magazines and other resources. It will host art nights, talks, meetups, workshops, book club meetings, and – in collaboration with other groups and organisations – will offer space for other community events. The space shall be fully accessible, including the amenities.
Our mission & values
Our mission is to create a safe(r) space that holds our values and where everyone is treated with kindness, respect and feels safe to speak and speak up. We want to encourage passionate politically charged discussions as long as they are respectful as well as to create a space that acknowledges and accommodates the needs of its members as much as possible.
About us
The FLINTA* Bookshelf is a collective of English-speaking FLINTA* people who share love for books and intersectional feminism. Rising from the FLINTA* Book Club Berlin, we wanted to give back to the community and create a space we would love to have and share in Berlin. We dream big and believe we can make it come true.
Support us
We are currently at the beginning of everything. Working on a business plan and timelines. We know it will take us some time to find the right space, but we want to start with smaller events in 2024.
Looking for volunteers
We are looking for FLINTA* folk based in Berlin who are passionate about intersectional feminism and creating a safe(r) space for FLINTA* and friends. We are currently looking for people who would like to be part of a working group or an advisory group with focus on:
- GbR related legislation and processes
- accounting
- scouting for and/or renting a commercial space in Berlin
